Who we are

The website at curiosa.tools is run by Curiosa Tools, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You can contact us at [email protected].

This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, how we use it and what you can do about it.

What we collect

We keep daily totals of how many times the front page is opened, how many times the free generator builds or downloads each shape, and how many times each die is downloaded from Truefall, the dice generator (their sum is the download counter shown on Truefall's page). Your browser sends us only the type of event and the name of the shape or die. If you arrived through a link we posted, your browser also sends the short code in that link (for example 'yt'); we add it to that day's total and store nothing else. We do not store your IP address, any identifier or the time of day with these totals.

If you choose to fill in the "Get notified" form, we store your email address, the date you signed up and the page you signed up from, with the short code of the link you arrived through, if any. The form is optional, and the generator works without it.

If you choose to post on Truefall's page ("Your prints"), we store the name you give, your rating, your comment, the photo if you add one, and the date. They are shown publicly on that page as soon as you post. We do not ask for your email address or an account. Before a photo is stored, the server takes out the camera and location data (EXIF, including GPS position) and other metadata a photo file can carry; only the picture and which way up it goes are kept. Your browser may also make a large photo smaller before sending it.

To stop automated spam sign-ups and posts, and to limit how many Truefall downloads one visitor can add to the public download counter, the server briefly uses your IP address, in a hashed form held only in memory, to count attempts. It is not stored.

The generator runs in your browser, and so does Truefall. The shapes and dice you make and the files you download are not sent to us; Truefall counts only that a die was downloaded, and which one.

How we use it

We use the daily totals to see how much the site and the generator are used, and which of the links we posted bring visitors. We show posts on Truefall's page so other makers can see prints of the dice. We use your email address only to tell you when Curiosa Shapes launches. To send that email, we may move the list to an email service, which will use it for that purpose only. We do not sell your information or share it for any other purpose.

Legal basis

We store your email address because you consented to it when you signed up. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us or by unsubscribing.

We store and show your post because you consented to it when you posted. You can withdraw your consent at any time by asking us to remove the post.

We keep the anonymous daily totals because of our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used.

Cookies

The site does not use cookies.

Third parties

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which also stores the data described above for us. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the connection from your browser, including your IP address, in order to deliver the pages, and keeps its own traffic statistics for the site. The site does not use any tracking or advertising scripts, and it does not load anything from other websites.

Cloudflare may store and process this data in countries other than yours, including the United States, under its standard data-protection terms.

How long we keep it

We keep the daily totals for as long as the site runs. We keep a post, and its photo, until you ask us to remove it or we take it down (we remove posts that are off-topic or unkind). We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. When we move the list to an email service for the launch email, we delete the copy held on this site.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. To be removed from the list, email [email protected] and we will delete it. Every launch email will also have an unsubscribe link.

To have a post you made on Truefall's page removed, email [email protected] with the name it was posted under and its date, and we will delete the post and its photo.

If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the data-protection authority where you live.

Children

The site, the sign-up form and Truefall's posts are not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their email addresses or posts.

If you believe a child has given us their email address or posted on the site, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
